Artist Statement

My mixed media presentations come from the process of making connections between form and symbol, light and dark, and movement and stillness. Through the combined use of organic, veiled, but often-common images and symbols, photography, words, and collage material, I explore both conscious and unconscious sides of human nature and offer tangible responses to this with texture, color, and composition.

I approach the work with spontaneity and paint in a room filled with music. Creating art for me has become both my exercise and my meditation. What I take from the work is a harmonious balance of clarity and chaos that inspires me forward.
